Now in its 14th year, Lake Macquarie’s Living Smart Festival is back for 2025, and is set to be bigger and better than ever. The festival will take place on Saturday 20 September at Speers Point Park and is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees.
The free event encourages people to learn about and embrace everyday sustainability practices, and will feature a native plant giveaway for Lake Macquarie residents.
Headlining this year’s festival is famous science expert Dr Karl Kruszelnicki AM who will be sharing his insights on climate change and busting science myths in an engaging Q&A session.
The event features a wide range of zones and activities including the Grow Zone, Kids Zone, Upcycle Zone, and more – offering hands-on workshops, live demonstrations, market stalls, entertainment and cultural experiences. There’s something for everyone, from backyard gardening tips and nature play to electrification panels and delicious local food.
We encourage tenants to head along, and make the most of the free activities on offer.
