Secure housing for households earning low to moderate incomes
Affordable Housing is secure housing for households earning low to moderate incomes who cannot afford to pay rent in the private rental market. Affordable Housing offers a discount of around 20% from the property market rent.
Affordable Housing is not the same as Community Housing. Households do not have to be eligible to apply for Community Housing and do not need to be on the Housing Pathways wait list.

Hunter Community Housing’s Affordable Housing properties are part of the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS). Applicants for NRAS properties are required to meet income eligibility criteria as set out in the NRAS guidelines.
